A native of Annapolis, Kathie graduated magna cum laude from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1981. She went on to further her education through graduate work in Finance at the University of Maryland. Kathie has over 27 years of experience in accounting and she began her accounting and finance career with the Maryland General Assembly in 1983. She acquired further accounting experience and expertise with the CPA firm of Hammond and Heim. She received her CPA license in 1989 and received the Personal Financial Planner certification from the AICPA in 2008.

Kathie is currently a partner in HeimLantz Financial Advisors; previously she served as Finance Director of the City of Annapolis. A 1998 graduate of Leadership Anne Arundel, Kathie is active in many community and professional organizations. Currently she serves on the City of Annapolis Police and Fire Retirement Plan Committee and Anne Arundel County Pension Trustee Board. She also served on the Board of Directors of Hospice of the Chesapeake and The Summit School and was an active member of the Annapolis Rotary Club. Her professional organization memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). She is a Registered Investment Advisor Representative (Series 66), Registered Securities Representative (Series 7) and is licensed in Maryland for Life and Health Insurance. Kathie focuses on helping individuals, families and businesses plan for the future to meet personal and professional financial objectives through comprehensive wealth care solutions. Her goal is to be her clients’ trusted advisor, providing peace of mind through tax-advantaged wealth creation, preservation and distribution solutions.

Kathie resides in her family home, built by her grandfather in 1920 on Harness Creek Road in Annapolis.
